2012 Olympics-Football
Evaluation

I think my work was done very well because I had a bit of everything in there like research, ideas process’s, information and a lot of visual recording which is what this unit is all about, recording your own work.

First I will start off with my research, I think my research was very well looked into I knew what I was going to do from the start so started researching football at the Olympics, I got good research from the internet looking at videos of football at the Olympics and also reading information from the official website, which was all good but if I was going to be completely honest I think I could of done a lot more research on the internet but also from books and magazines which I never did at all, I think this could of gotten me better information if I wasn’t doing an infographic.

Idea process’s, well my idea process’s was standard, what I did was mind maps which I thought could of helped a lot if I didn’t know what I was going to do because I had it in my mind that football was the right one for me, but I continued to do mind maps just in case there’s something that makes me change my mind. The only problem I see is that I always mainly go straight to screen because that’s what feels best for me, but also I think I need to change because I’ve done work before where I did it straight on screen then the next day don’t like it, so that’s something I will take from this which is to do lots of ideas.

I think I have done good visual recording because I have used different types of visual recording like screen recording, screen grabs and annotation. I think I did a lot of this and showed my process clearly and I don’t think I needed to do anymore visual recording then I already did.

I did consider my target audience because I wrote a short piece on my blog, which was short but straight to the point, and very clear, I think I chose a good option because it gave me a wide target audience

If I were asked to take on this project again I would make sure I did a lot more ideas on it then I did on my current project because I only had one idea, which I think was still a good idea but to explore a bit more I think that would have been best. I would also do more research depending on what I was doing because I already know about football. I knew a lot of things that I didn’t even need to research so all that I could do is research to see if my information was correct, I would of also tried to do a lot more secondary research because all I did was take pictures of a football, I think this time I would of taken photos of a football relevant to the Olympics also take photos of football boots or tops.

Considering peers critiques from this project I would strongly think about changing my colour scheme because more than half of the critiques didn’t particularly like the colour scheme I used which was slightly worrying considering I already changed it once. Peers also suggested that I should have experimented with the layout more than what I did, which I agree with but I did like the layout of my final product.

Peers told me that I should of annotated my process on my tumblr process a lot more because I didn’t do a great deal on it, which I do agree with on some parts but there wasn’t much to annotate because it was on your screen in video and screenshots so you could see it and with the annotations I put, they went straight to the point.

Here I printed out my current infographic and decided to cut it out and re-arrange the information in different positions and seeing if there was any other way it looked good and there was and so  changed my infographic around abit.

Re-Arranged my infographic, to see what it would look like differently.
